Covid-19
To Our Valued Patients:We are excited to announce the reopening of our office for all routine, urgent and emergent Ophthalmic visits, as well as for routine surgical procedures. As you can imagine, we have many patients to accommodate and reschedule, and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
Mercer Eye Associates remains focused on the health of our patients, physicians and staff during this COVID-19 pandemic. We have therefore implemented many new precautions for our mutual safety.
*Patients will be pre-screened with our COVID-19 questionnaire at the time of appointment scheduling, appointment confirmation and on the day of the office visit. Patients deemed to be at high risk, will be rescheduled to a later date.
*Only patients with scheduled appointments can be seen in the office. We will not be able to accommodate walk-in visits at this time.
*In an attempt to maintain social distancing, many fewer patients will be able to be seen in the office each day. There will be limited use of the waiting room, ensuring that patients are kept at least 6 feet apart.
Patients will also have the option of waiting in their vehicle instead of the waiting room, until the staff is ready for your appointment. You will be provided with a direct office phone number to call upon your arrival to the office, and further instructions will be provided to you at that time.
*We are requesting that all persons accompanying patients to the office remain in their vehicles, unless patient assistance or translation services are required during the visit.
*Frequent antiseptic wipe downs will be performed throughout the office over the course of each day, and within each exam room between patient encounters. Hand sanitizer will be available to all patients at the time of check-in and check-out, as well as inside each examination room.
*Physicians will be wearing masks and surgical scrubs, in an effort to protect our patients. All patients and accompanying family members or guests will also be required to wear masks while in the office. If you have a mask at home, we ask that you wear the mask to your visit. If you do not have a mask, a disposable one will be provided to you.
*All microscopes and Lasers within the office have been equipped with barrier breath shields placed between the physician and the patient, to provide an additional physical layer of protection.
The optical shop will be open by appointment only, with proper cleaning of all trial frames and equipment, throughout the day.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time, and look forward to welcoming you all back Mercer Eye again!
